CHL Equipment Limited (formerly Cunnington Handling Ltd) was founded by Ed Cunnington in 1991. Initially specialising in Verstegen grabs, the company Verstegen Grabs UK was also founded as a trading name of CHL Equipment.

Following the success of the Verstegen business, CHL then expanded into other areas of material handling such as vacuum lifting and steel handling as indicated by the logos above.
